I could scarcely believe my eyes when I spotted these lady slippers during our walk at the tree farm Wednesday. Of course, I was without a camera so it had to wait until Thursday morning to get a shot of these magnificent blooms. I am so pleased I managed to get such a nice shot.

It's a fairly substantial stand with four blossoms, and it looks like it has a couple of baby plants coming along, too. I'm not sure how I managed to spot them since they blend in so well with their surroundings as you walk past, but I am so glad I did.
Now I just need to haul out the wildflower book and find out a bit more to bask more knowingly in their beauty.
