Wednesday they were just eggs. Thursday they were these wee little critters.
I've been watching the nest for a couple of weeks now. When I checked Wednesday, the eggs looked a bit odd in color and I wondered.
Today as we walked by the old mill at the tree farm, I stopped to check once mama robin flew off. And there were the fuzzy little ones trying to lift their heads on their delicate necks. So sweet and fragile.
When we came back by, I thought I got a picture of mama in the nest, but she managed to escape just as I clicked the shutter. See her tail fuzz at the top of the frame below?
Interesting place to have the kids, don't you think? But very well protected. Smart mama bird.
