On our walk Monday, I discovered five stands of lady slippers down a different path in the forest. When we returned on Tuesday, I carted along the camera in hopes that I could get several shots of the stunning flowers.
The one above has just a hint of pink and botanically speaking is a pink lady slipper. Most of them, however, are a creamy white, but they, too, are considered pink lady slippers.

Dappled sunlight brings a lovely glow to the blossoms.

The three pictured above are the ones I found last May. I've watched their progress all spring, and the blooms finally developed around Memorial Day. These three I am calling the triplets.
