Keeping Dab Hands busy

Unbeknownst to much of the land, my sister and I dabble in arts and crafts. I don't do nearly as much as I would like to, but my sister finds the time to paint, paint and paint some more.

For a few years, we've had crafts at the shop in Dexter, but since that is closing this year, we found ourselves needing a place to put our items.

Locally, we will have about 100 different items for sale at the Waldo County Craft Co-op in Searsport, right there on the main drag down through town. It's about 23 miles or so from Bangor and a mile from Anglers Restaurant in Searsport. Here's a map to get you there.

You can't miss the sign, with its sunny yellow markings.

Just look for the framed photos, the painted birdhouses, the jewelry, the paintings on glass and slate and so on. They're all tagged with a JFP and a number.

The store opens this weekend for the season.

If you can't make it there, then check out some of our handpainted items on Etsy in our store called Dab Hands: http://www.etsy.com/shop/DabHands.

We also have a Zazzle store where you can find a multitude of items using photographs from our travels near (the garden) and far (Maine and Canada). It's also called Dab Hands, but the link is http://www.zazzle.com/jepineo.

On top of that, we've got a Facebook page, too. It's called Dab Hands — are you seeing the pattern? Visit http://www.facebook.com/dabhands.

My sister and I hope you enjoy the visit, either in person or virtual. Maybe you'll find something for yourself and someone you love.

Happy shopping!

And let us know what you think, too.
