Blue moon eve

It was nearly a blue moon Wednesday night as it rose at dusk. Since clouds and snow were forecasted for Thursday, it was the only chance to get a shot of the almost-blue moon rising.

Despite the cold, it was a picturesque day and evening. The snow from Monday night's storm is still clinging to the trees, which is worrisome for the weekend. They are predicting upwards of 2 feet of snow depending on where the low sits out in the Atlantic. So we have battened down the hatches, filled the tanks with gasoline and the dog is sleeping in preparation for eating his way through the backyard.

Happy new year to us!
