Crazy

Everything seems to be incredibly early this year. The lilacs started to bloom in mid-May, which is just outrageous. The lupine in my yard is already starting to blossom. The daffodils came and went in a matter of days. The violets, which always flowered just a tad before Mother's Day, were more than a week early. The trees have leafed out so quickly and so early that I think my internal season clock is run amok.

And on Memorial Day, I saw this beach pea already doing its thing.

Lovely, all, but can't we slow things down a bit?
