It is always a bittersweet moment to see the first sunflowers, because in my garden they are a sign that the end of the gardening season is near.
But they also bring a smile, too, because they are a spot of sunshine, even on a gloomy day, such as Friday when we were waiting for the remnants of Hanna to arrive.
