Sunshine on a cloudy day

The daffodils have started to shine around the yard. These three clumps - and more - are around the front yard.

The rhubarb - which poked out of the ground last fall like so many other plants that seemed to think October was spring - looks none the worse for its premature foray. This piece looks especially well.

The sorrel is finally large enough to pick. I think a little spring salad may be in order, especially if ...

I add a little salad burnet to the mix. I would think about adding garlic tops to it, but unfortunately something ate the tops off.

Then there is this wee bird's nest in one of the apple trees. My sister says a chickadee built it. It commands a lovely view.
